At the last minute I decided to go to Myrtle Beach for a couple days and see the sites. Also my good friends Popeye and BJ from Chicago were going to be there and I was anxious to visit with them.
The trip down was my usual late start. I left about 1:30 pm and arrived about 10:30 pm on Sunday.
My friends made it Monday. We had a great dinner (I had a two pound stuffed lobster) and then toured the area a bit Monday evening.
Tuesday we had pork chops and eggs for breakfast and hung out at the Inn for the day. Then out for dinner, SBB (Suck Bang Blow, a biker bar in Murrell's Inlet) and a snack.
I left for Baltimore on Wednesday morning. Got caught in two major thunderstorms, run out of dry clothes, stopped at the Harley Dealer in Smithfield NC and bought all new clothes, including underwear and boots (spent about $900). Of course there was no more rain. Later that evening I did get caught in a massive traffic jam south of Washington DC at 11:00 pm for a couple hours.
I got home around 1:30 am. All in all it was a great trip--I didn't keep track on the way down, but the home bound trip was about 465 miles.
